  1. Sending you waves of warm wishes, hoping your back is better soon... as for the food, keep control, you can do it.

  2. So sorry about you back, but don't let it undo the progress you've made. Your body wants comfort, but why not do it the PCP way? Give it the PCP food you love. Do other things you love. Whatever it takes to stay on track.

And, keep blogging about it. You said yourself. The food you want is BAD for you.

If it helps, think of the bad feelings you'll have to carry on your poor back if you cheat on your diet. I can see the blog entry now. "I did it, I cheated. I feel horrible. All the hard work I did and I tossed it away on a..."

I know these bad feelings intimately. And, if you let your guard down, but don't blog about it, then you'll have to carry that slip with you through the entire program where it will eat at you. You'll finish the PCP, but in your heart you'll know you didn't do it quite right. Still want that bad food now?

  3. By the way, did you answer Patrick's question from the comment section on day 17? And, my advice, don't fear the doctor. The PCP can adapt to you if some changes need to be made. Patrick is full of ideas. Health is what we are after and Patrick will help ypu get there even if he has to change the path a little for a bit of doctor-identified back trouble.

  4. Birgit....my back hurt the whole first week and I slept on a heating pad every night that week and it's gone?! Just a suggestion.

  5. Birgit - we are ALL going through something we never really were prepared for. Everyone is out there either struggling with the food, the exercise, the discipline. Take a step back and consider each accomplishment on its own. From that perspective every time you do the right thing its a celebration. Real glory springs from the silent conquest of ourselves.
